| Encaustic Workshops with Edie Morton I really enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience of the encaustic medium. Besides demonstrating the numerous techniques, I hope to help each student accomplish their desires. Depending on the individual this involves helpful guidance, pushing past the comfort zone, or completing a finished piece. Learn more about my qualifications. Location: My studio in the Fulton Cotton Mill - Cabbagetown - Atlanta, GA. One Day Intro/Beginner - $115.00* Intro/Beginner workshop will begin with a studio gallery tour of
encaustic paintings including discussion of various techniques and
treatments. We will make clear medium while reviewing surface/substrate
options as well as safety issues. We will cover the following techniques
and demonstrations: mixing colors, creating smooth, layered and
textured surfaces, Xerox transfers, collage, sgraffito and oil pigment
sticks. Following the demonstrations students will have several
hours of open studio time to practice techniques. Two Day Beginner/Intermediate- $230.00* Beginner/Intermediate workshop will include the entire intro/beginner
curriculum plus several intermediate techniques including handmade
stencils, a poured surface and further exploration of oil pigment
sticks. Students have the advantage of extended studio hours during
the two-day session. Registration A deposit of $115.00 for the two day class and $65.00 for the one day class will be due to hold your space. Deposits can be paid through Paypal or by check. Balance due at first class. Space is limited to four people so classes fill up quickly. Cancellation Policy
